Frequently Asked Questions....
Why are cloth diapers better than disposables?

Our cloth diapers are great for your baby, they are made from 100% natural cotton fibers and are free of the chemicals and perfumes used by disposable diapers. Studies have shown that babies in cloth diapers potty train earlier than babies in disposables. Did you know that the average age for a child to be potty trained has jumped from 18 months to 36 months since the arrival of disposable diapers?  Environmentally, they are the ultimate in recycling because they are reused again and again.  Disposable diapers are used once and the EPA estimates that it may take 450 years for them to decompose.

What is your service area?

We will cover the Dallas, Fort Worth, Denton triplex areas, including Frisco, Plano, Richardson, Allen, McKinney, Addison, University Park, Garland, Mesquite, Little Elm, Corinth, Lake Dallas, The Colony, Flower Mound, Lewisville, Argyle, Keller, Southlake, Trophy Club, Grapevine, Colleyville, Bedford, Hurst, Euless, Watauga, North Richland Hills, Saginaw, White Settlement, Benbrook, Crowley, Burleson, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Sanger, Aubrey, Pilot Point, and Gainesville.  We are constantly expanding so if you do not see your area listed please give us a call and see what we can do.

How does your service work?

Simply leave your bag of dirty diapers outside your front door once a week and we come by and replace them with soft, clean, sanitized diapers.  That's it!  You don't even need to be home.

Every week we will drop off the clean diapers in a waterproof diaper pail liner which doubles as our delivery bag.  You just unpack the clean diapers from the liner and place it in your diaper pail.  No need to soak, rinse, or wash the dirty diapers.  If your baby's poop isn't solid yet, just drop them in the bag and forget about them until delivery day.  If your baby has been introduced to solid food and their poop is a little more substantial, you have a couple of options.  You can just flip the poop into the toilet and put the dirty diaper into the pail, or if you want to use a diaper liner, you just pick up the liner and flush it down the toilet, again placing the dirty diaper in the pail.

How do I get started?

We will set up an initial delivery and orientation appointment.  You will receive your first rotation of diapers along with 2 free Snappis.  We can take this time to give you a hands-on tutorial on how to use the cloth diapers and answer any questions you may have.

If your child has already arrived, you may begin using the diapers immediately and the pick-up/drop-off will begin the following week on your designated delivery day.  If you are pregnant or welcoming a new child into your home, we will schedule your orientation appointment 3 to 4 weeks before your due date.  When your baby arrives you can begin using the diapers we left during the orientation.  Give us a call and we can begin your weekly deliveries.

What kind of diapers do you use?

We use Indian prefold diapers.  These incredibly soft and absorbent diapers are a natural light brown color.  The bleaching process to produce white diapers is not really necessary, it can weaken the threads as well as pollute the environment.

How many diapers will I need?

We recommend 70 diapers per week for the average newborn, 60 is usually enough for 6-12 month olds, and 50 for toddlers.  Here is an example of how your diaper rotation will work:

Week 1:  We drop off 70 diapers

Week 2:  We drop off 70 diapers, we pick up 67 dirty diapers.

Week 3:  We drop off 67 diapers, we pick up 65 dirty diapers.

Week 4:  We drop off 65 diapers, we pick up 66 dirty diapers.

                Etc., etc., etc.......

You will always have plenty of fresh, clean diapers!

What if I need more diapers?

Give us a call.  We will be happy to work out an arrangement that will fit your needs.

What if I have multiple children in diapers?

Then we are sure you have your hands full and our service would be perfect for you!  We offer a 25% discount on each additional service .  You can have all the benefits of using cloth diapers without the hassle of doing the laundry at an affordable rate.

What size of diaper do I need?

Most diaper sizes run according to baby weight.

When do I put my diapers out?

If you are not going to be home, please have the diapers outside your door by 08:00 a.m. on your designated delivery day.

What if I forget to put out my diapers?

We certainly understand how busy your life can be with small children.  If the diapers are not there when we arrive, we will knock on your door.  If your not home we can't leave the clean diapers without picking up the soiled ones.  Please give us a call, we may be able to come back by that day for no charge if we are still in the area, or we can try to make arrangements for a special delivery the next day with a small fuel charge.

Do I need to rinse or wash my diapers?

Absolutely not!  That is our job.  Once your babies poop is solid we just ask that you flip it into the toilet.  If it is not flippable, then you don't have to worry about it.  Our diaper liners can make that even easier and will help keep your diaper pail smelling nicer.

Can I use diaper creams?

Regular or Original Formula Desitin creams stain our diapers. Any other diaper cream is fine.

How do I prevent my diaper covers from getting soiled every time?

While your baby is young, folding the diaper and placing it in the cover may be enough. Once your baby is crawling, a Snappi® fastener will help. See this “how to fold” video for details on folding diapers and on how to use a Snappi®.  Our thanks to our granddaughter Ivy and her beautiful mother Garrett for the video!  Garret is the owner of Ivy's Diaper Service in Charlotte, NC and has also put together a really nice video explaining the basics of cloth diapering.

What should I do if my baby is soaking through her diaper?

There are a few reasons this can happen. Your baby may be ready for a bigger diaper. Let us know and we can bump you up to the next size.

If leaks occur mainly overnight or during naps, you may need a doubler — or even two for heavy wetters.

If you are not using a diaper service, the other cause could be detergent residue. Laundry detergent can build up on anything you wash, but you will usually only notice it on items that are supposed to be waterproof or absorbent.  We have a multiple step process that helps prevent this from happening.

What if I am going on vacation?

Just let us know. We can give you extra diapers the week before, if you wish to cloth diaper while on vacation. We can skip a pick up and get a double load once you are back from vacation.

What about holidays and bad weather?

We will contact you with our holiday schedule 1-2 weeks before major holidays. We will also let you know if weather conditions prevent us from making deliveries. If you're worried you might not have enough diapers to get through, tell us.

Is there any benefit to referring my friends?

Yes! We will give you one free week for every friend you refer who stays with us for two months. Just have your friend mention your name when they sign up for their service the first time.

Do you offer a baby shower registry?  Can your service be given as a gift?

Yes, we have gift certificates available.  If you are buying gift certificates for the service we ask that you purchase them in one month increments.  We also hope to have a gift registry available shortly.

When do I get my bill?

When you receive your first batch of diapers and we show you how to use them, you will be asked for your first and last months' service payment. (We do this as a security deposit for our diapers. When you finished with our service, you will be receive back any portion of the last month that you did not use.) Your payments will then be due every four weeks. We can either deliver the bill with your diapers or via e-mail or set up an automatic charge to your credit card.

What if I want to cancel?

Contact us to arrange for a final pick up. There is a fee for missing materials: $1 per diaper, $2 per doubler and $15 per diaper bag. We want all of our customers to leave us only because their children are potty trained. If you wish to leave us because of another reason, please tell us so we can try to fix it!

How will I know when my baby is ready for potty training?

We like the Dr. Sears approach:

  • Imitates your toileting
  • Verbally communicates other sensations, such as hunger
  • Understands simple requests, such as "go get ball"
  • Begins to pull diapers off when wet or soiled, or comes to tell you he's dirty
  • Follows you to the bathroom
  • Able to pull clothes off
  • Climbs onto the potty-chair or toilet
  • Has dry spells: stays dry at least three hours
  • Investigates his or her body equipment

Children in cloth diapers generally potty train at around 18 months of age, but every child is different.
